How my journey began
Like so many of you, my career has morphed and changed over the years. Loves of my early years - boats, water sports, art, and crafts became the beginning of my college education as an Art Major, with a specialization in Art Education (so I could enjoy summers on the water!)
But then things changed! Art Ed was being taken out of schools as I entered my junior year, so I had to pivot to a 2nd choice - Engineering! I loved the creativity required to develop solutions that met the aesthetic of the architect’s vision, while also working within the bounds of physics to provide high-quality interior conditions that were energy efficient and provided extended service. Many years of working with Architects, Interior Designers and Home Owners created a huge admiration for the craftsmen who provide the look and feel that turn a building into a place of refuge and comfort.
As a hobby artist, crafter, and sewist, who also took on the challenges of multiple renovations, redecorating, and even a hands-on home building project - I have come to be amazed at what a person’s hands can do- when guided by extreme skill along with inspiration, vision, and passion. My 35 years of running my own professional services business has shown me firsthand how hard it is to run a business when your attention is needed to create the amazingness that clients are looking for from you. And the work is so much more fun than the business stuff!
I may not be able to CREATE the carefully crafted items that others can- but I’ve been coaching, mentoring and teaching others to duplicate our success for years - and I love being able to help others who just want to do what is so dear to them, and have a life that allows them to enjoy beauty, family and some relaxation/adventure time.
I can’t wait to see what you create and help you enjoy your business success!
